How do you make your car sound like a Porsche 911 turbo?

How do you make your car sound like a Porsche 911 turbo?|||You buy one.|||In short, unless you are dealing with a Porsche engine to start with, you will not have alot of success in duplicating the tone.

There are a few factors that combine for the unique engine note... on the older cars you have a combination of the flat 6 configuration, air cooling, and the turbo. The newer cars are now watercooled and also quieter (with factory exhaust), but the engine layout remains the same and the basic layout of the exhaust system is still similar.

If you wanted to closely replicate the sound with another engine, an early VW engine would probably be the best canidate (being both flat and air cooled)... then it would just be a matter of adding a turbo and finding the right exhaust. This is probably as close as you'll get without going with a Porsche.|||It's not just the exhaust system or turbo set up that gives it that distinctive sound. Sure, you can mount fake blow off valves on any engine, doesn't mean its going to sound like a 911TT.

It's a no win situation unless you have six figures to drop.|||I bought a whistler that hooks to your muffler and it makes your car sound just like a Porsche 911 turbo. Its only $20 instead of paying thousands of dollars for a real turbo kit for your car. Works awesome and people actually ask me what I have under my hood.|||well u start by throwing away ur car and buying a porsche 911.

or stealling a porsche 911 exhaust lines|||Buy a Porsche or Subaru Flat-6 engine and install turbo's than put it in your car and get a Porsche exhaust system.|||BUY a Porsche 911 turbo!!! No...just kiddn! I dont know, maybe different mufflers????|||Baseball cards in the spokes
