Where can I find information on the original tire size for my 1972 Porsche?

I recently purchased a 1972 Porsche coupe with low-profile tires. The tires will soon need replacement and I would like to go with a softer-riding tire, but one that would allow for occasional spirited driving, as well as for freeway driving. It would be helpful if I could find out what the original tire size was when the car was new. It would also help explain any variations in the speedometer.|||Original Equipment Sizes for 1972 Porsche 911

Original Equipment Size: 185/70-15|||Hmm, that would depend on whether your Porsche is a 914, or a 911.

It may also depend on whether it is imported and converted, or was Australian delivered.

You should consult one of the big tyre places, as the type of driving you will do will also affect what the choice, type and size of the tyres should be for your car.

Good Luck|||I used to use 195/60-15 Pirelli P6's on my '72. No rubbing and the speedo was ok on calibration and it looks much better than stock tires.
